Eligibility criteria

Application process is open to candidates who hold the following:

  1. a secondary school leaving certificate or an equivalent document entitling the holder to apply to study at any type of higher education institution in accordance with applicable regulations in force in the country of origin of the candidate,
  2. two subjects listed in their secondary school leaving certificate:
    • Biology,
    • Chemistry or Physics.

 

Qualification principles

Candidates are qualified on the basis of an entry examination taken at the University, consisting of a written test held in English and an admission interview held in English.

Result of the qualification procedure (W) is calculated according to the following formula:

W = W1 + W2

where:

W1 – stands for the number of points obtained for the test,

W2 – stands for the number of points for the admission interview.

* The written test in English verifies the candidates' knowledge and ability to use specialist terminology in the field of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The test is evaluated using a scale of 0 to 200 points.

** The admission interview conducted in English assesses the candidates' motivation to study medicine, their experience in working for aid organisations, as well as their interpersonal and communication skills. The admission interview is evaluated using a scale of 0 to 200 points.

 

If a candidate holds an IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma, issued by the International Baccalaureate Organisation with a registered office in Geneva, or an EB (European Baccalaureate) diploma, which includes examination grades in two subjects taken at advanced level and in English:

  1. Biology and
  2. Chemistry or Physics,

such a candidate does not take the written test. When entering grades of the school-leaving examination, conversion should be made in accordance with the table below:

If a candidate holds a Polish upper secondary school leaving examination certificate (maturity certificate) awarded for taking the school leaving examination within the bilingual education system with English as one of the languages of instruction, which includes examination grades in two subjects taken at advanced level:

  1. Biology and
  2. Chemistry or Physics,

such a candidate does not take the written test. When entering grades for the school leaving examination, conversion should be made as follows:

1 % = 1 point

 

The requirement for admission is obtaining a minimum of 300 points at the entrance examination, that is the sum of points for the written test and the admission interview.
